What is the ADD value? Do I need it?

The ADD value is the addition used in progressive lenses. It tells you how much extra lens power you need for near vision compared with your distance prescription.

On a prescription, the ADD value is usually written as the same number for both eyes (for example +2.00).

  • If your prescription has an ADD value → you need progressive lenses (or separate reading glasses).
  • If your prescription has no ADD value → single-vision lenses are enough.

If you've already ordered progressive glasses but the ADD value is missing from your prescription, send it to info@banaanieyewear.fi by replying to your order confirmation – we'll add it to your order.
