For most people, getting used to progressive glasses takes about 1–2 weeks, for some up to 3 weeks.
At first the glasses can feel completely unusable – the image can look strange, the reading area can be hard to find, or you may feel dizzy. This is normal. Your brain needs time to get used to the new image that the new lens creates.
Then suddenly something clicks in your brain and the image looks normal, once your brain has learned the "new settings".
Traditional opticians often give an adaptation period of 3 weeks, and during that time they won't even take the glasses back. We recommend wearing the glasses regularly for at least 2 weeks before you draw any conclusions.
If the glasses still don't seem to work after two weeks, first try adjusting the position of the frames and the tilt angle – this often fixes the problem without new glasses: How do I adjust the tilt angle of my glasses?
If adjusting doesn't help, we can re-centre the lenses free of charge, based on a selfie taken from the front – see the instructions in My lenses don't seem to work. What should I do? or send a message to info@banaanieyewear.fi.
There's no rush to get used to progressive lenses: you have 100 days. If you don't get used to them, you'll get new glasses or your money back.
