What is the difference between single-vision, distance, computer and reading glasses?

There are three kinds of single-vision lenses, depending on the distance they are made for:

  • Distance glasses – for seeing far away (for example driving, watching TV)
  • Computer glasses (office glasses) – for screen distance, about 60–100 cm (a computer screen)
  • Reading glasses – for close distance, about 30–40 cm (reading)

You make the choice when you order. The type of lens doesn't affect the price – all single-vision lenses cost the same (the most affordable option, 1.61, is free).

If you need the same glasses for both distance and near vision, consider progressive glasses, which have all three focus areas in one lens.
